I have been using My Utmost for His Highest for 13 yrs now. Only recently with the updated edition , I learnt about the wife and daughter, so naturally I was curious about the family of this man, I have grown to love. I see the glory of God in the lives of men and women like these. It strengthens my faith and encourages me to praise Him!
Thanks for your comment, Jackie, that’s exactly what started me!
First I read David McCasland’s excellent biography, Oswald Chambers: Abandoned to God, then I wrote a novel including him and Biddy (coming this fall) and then a biography of Biddy (published last fall).
McCasland’s extensive interviews with Kathleen were an important source for my writing.
Reading Utmost and writing about the Chambers family have grown my faith!
I have just finished reading ‘Abandoned To God’ and was moved, convicted and stirred in my heart by the life of Oswald and Biddy. This is true giving of oneself for God. I was also interested in what happened to Kathleen which led me here when googling her.
Kathleen certainly led an interesting life. She was a quirky character and very much her own person. I’ve written far more about her in “Mrs. Oswald Chambers,” a biography of Biddy.

I agree, “Abandoned to God,” is a splendid book.
